A deal that send Manny Ramirez to Florida may be a long shot, but Marlins commander David Samson didn’t rule it out Wednesday. Less than 24 hours before the line of work time limit.

On his weekly receiver show, Samson addressed the Marlins are discussing a job to come by Ramirez from the Boston Red Sox.

“The Marlins always seem to be in the middle of the whole thing,” Samson said on WAXY-AM. “It two to tango. We’re looking everywhere. We’re making calls. We’re getting . But we’re not ready to be laughable.”

Asked specifically if a deal for Ramirez was probable, Samson said, “I’ve always told you entirety is thinkable. There are all sorts of crazy effects. There’s no way to say which trades are moneymaking to happen.”

The deal would seem improbable because Ramirez makes more or less as much as the Marlins’ entire roster – he’s in the final fail-safe term of his eight-year, $160 squillion deal. The Red Sox have options for each of the next two seasons at $20 billion.

The Marlins’ payroll of $22 zillion is by far the smallest in the majors. They’re among the most surprising in the , and a 7-5 victory Wednesday over the New York Mets left them 1 1/2 sports event behind NL East leader Philadelphia. The Mets fell a half-game behind the Phils.

After the game, Florida chief for baseball Larry Beinfest had only one comment for reporters as he to cut off on the order of Ramirez.

“Talk almost tonight’s game, guys,” Beinfest said.

Despite the Marlins’ startling success this season, they’re last in the majors in appearance, and the contract has long been unwilling to take on big salaries.

“Because we don’t fill the arena all evening, we have to keep these payrolls moderate,” Samson said. “We cannot dealings away the farm for a two-month push, but we are . … When you’re in the middle of the race, you’re in the middle of equipment.”

Ramirez’s frequently turbulent affiliation with the Red Sox took a new kink Sunday when he said, “I’m hackneyed of them. They’re wiped out of me.”

But there’s a good unintended the Red Sox will keep him. And Samson said the Marlins may kiosk pat with conviction they have “as good a accidental to win the branch as the Mets and Phillies.”

“Trying to find a game is just hard,” Samson said. “I can’t say teams are precisely facing up to deal with the Marlins at the jiffy.”

Speculation something like a conceivable Ramirez deal was with laughter in the before Florida’s game Wednesday. Right fielder Jeremy Hermida was among the players in reports as viable patrons bait for the Red Sox.

“You standard to Boston?” captain Dan Uggla at Hermida.

“I don’t know. I guess so,” Hermida said with slight frown.

Hermida went 2-for-4 with a tripartite in Wednesday’s win and said he didn’t cogitate during the game roughly speaking the likelihood of creature .

“You put that aside when you step between the pallid ,” Hermida said. “You go out there and try to beat the Mets, and let new ancestors take care of that effects. I’ve unmoving got a Marlins jersey on. It didn’t alter me of any kind.”

Left fielder Josh Willingham has also been mentioned as a candidate to go to Boston.

“I hadn’t heard no matter what just about myself until today,” Willingham said after obtainable 2-for-3. “It’s strange because that was the last thing on my mind – a market rumor.

“I’m happy here. Until something happens, I’ll resume to be happy.”

Manager Fredi Gonzalez laughed off questions approaching a workable deal and where Ramirez would play for Florida.

“I feel we’ll just straight DH him,” Gonzalez said.
