Third-seeded Katarina Srebotnik trounced contestant Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-3, 6-4 Wednesday to spread the quarterfinals of the Nordic Light Open.

Pavlyuchenkova, a ex- top-graded lesser from Russia, trailed 4-1 in the additional set before reaching 4-4. But Srebotnik, a Slovenian who won the entitlement in 2005, in the red back to lead 5-4 and served out the contest.
“She played well for a while and I unaccounted for a few shots,” Srebotnik said. “She’s a very good player, but there’s a long way to go from low-ranking tennis.”
Srebotnik, ranked 29th, will play either one Maria Elena Camerin or Marian Erakovic in the .
Vera Dushevina another- Agnes Szavay 6-4, 7-6 (6).
Szavay broke quick in both sets, but couldn’t get the most out of. In the opener, the Hungarian had a chance to operate out the set when chief 5-4, but she had two double- and made two bad with her forehand.
Top-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska also won in aboveboard sets. The defender, who beat Dushevina in last year’s last, routed Mariya Koryttseva of Ukraine 6-1, 6-1.
Radwanska fell behind love-40 in the initial game, but the 10th-tiered Pole rallied to win it and was not ever challenged the rest of the way.
“I’m very content with the way I’m playing dead-on now,” Radwanska said. “I haven’t played a event since Wimbledon. I hope to extent the conclusive here because this experience is good formulation for the Olympics.”
Sixth- Sania Mirza ousted Emilie Loit 6-3, 6-2 in the first round. Mirza’s match was to Wednesday because she the doubles semifinals at a WTA event last weekend in Carson, Calif.
“I felt very tired and jet-lagged and expected a gristly pair,” Mirza said. “It was nice to win in shipshape sets.”
Mirza will play Iveta Benesova in the succeeding round.
