Darryl Hill wasn’t held to be here, neither were his teammates. But when the timer on Thursday nightly at the Nike Pro City challenge, the members of PDG Queensbridge voted for smiles that elongated from Little Neck to Astoria.

Hill, the former St. John’s standout who goes by the name “Showtime” and rebounded from a serious left knee grievance two ago, had 20 points, six assists and three steals to lead PDG Queensbridge to a 118-106 win over No. 1 seed Primetime. It was PDG’s sixth consecutive conquest after an 0-3 plus.

“It was real unique for us. I felt it was remarkably for me, expressive that I had an injury and population thoughtful I was still hurt,” Hill said. “I community I’m still in good physical shape and that I can still get it done on the courtyard. As far as our team, we came a long way. To come back from an 0-3 twitch and win the tournament, it says a lot about the guys on this team.”

Hill, 26, began playing for the Red Storm in 2003 and sickly-looking as the third-primary in the Big East with 20.7 per game in his sophomore term. The following year, Hill’s fast rise was halted by his knee wound, which inadequate him to 32 cup in his final two .

Following his time at St. John’s, Hill was powerless to land a NBA roster spot after with the Knicks, Nets and Cavaliers. Last time he played in Macedonia,
and after the summer stock he plans
to play in Western Europe – thousands of much from his childhood in Queens.

“It was wild. We were low on greenbacks and it wasn’t a great life for my family,” Hill said of his childhood. “If I didn’t play basketball, I’d be a little real stupid in the streets with gangs or a bit. I definitely saw basketball as a way to loose change that.”
