The Ducks are still looking to trade Schneider.
NHL hockey newsThe Ducks are still looking to trade Schneider. Who has been given permission by the team not to report to training camp, the Los Angeles Times reports.
In the meantime, Teemu Selanne is in camp on a tryout contract, while he awaits a move that will clear the necessary cap space for the Ducks to sign him. While some form of a trade seems imminent, the interest in the puck-moving veteran blueliner has been very limited.

Cody Hodgson: Getting Big Chance.
Hodgson will skate with Pavol Demitra and Steve Bernier for Mondays preseason opener against the Oilers, the Vancouver Sun reports.
It looks like the Canucks are giving Hodgson every possible chance of making the final roster. If he does make the team, its possible that the first-round pick could center the Canucks second line.

Milan Lucic: First Line.
Lucic could end up working on the Bruins first line to start the season along with Marc Savard, and Michael Ryder, the Boston Globea reports.
There could be some mixing and matching as camp rolls along, but if that combo sticks, the ever-improving Lucic (who worked on his explosive skating during the offseason), has sleeper written all over him.
