NBA basketball news

Wallace is expected to play fewer minutes this season, the Oakland Press reports. Wallace will still be a starter for the Pistons, but look for coach Michael Curry to involve Amir Johnson, Jason Maxiell and Kwame Brown in the front court mix with Wallace and Antonio McDyess.
Curry also wants Wallace to be in better shape this season, according to the Detroit Free Press. I want him (Wallace) to be able to maintain his conditioning throughout the season. You can get in basketball shape, but you can play the whole season but not be in great conditioning as well, said Curry, who wants Wallace to play more in the low post and not straying out to the 3-point line. Curry feels Wallace can handle the bumping and grinding of the low post better if he were in better condition.

Darius Miles: Suspended 10 Games.

Miles has been suspended without pay for 10 games following a violation of the leagues anti-drug program, the Canadian Press reports.
Miles, who has missed the last two NBA seasons with various knee injuries, will have to wait a little bit longer to debut with his new team. Maybe a change in venue will lead to more success for the former third overall draft pick, but getting suspended is not a good way to start.
