Delta Storm wins at Hollywood Park

Delta Storm beat Hewitts by a length to win Wednesdays $48,000 feature at Hollywood Park.

Ridden by Aaron Gryder, Delta Storm covered six furlongs on the turf in 1:08.12 and paid $5.20, $2.80 and $2.10 as the wagering favorite.

Hewitts returned $3.20 and $2.40, while Towzee paid $2.80 to show.

The victory, worth $28,800, increased Delta Storms career earnings to $345,069. He was claimed for $40,000 in May at Churchill Downs. The 7-year-old Kentucky-bred gelding was entered Wednesday for a $100,000 claiming tag, but was not taken, so he remained in trainer Mike Mitchells barn.
