Milan VP Galliani hopeful of Kaka staying
Soccer newsAC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani played down rumors on Saturday of Kaka’s impending move to Manchester City, including a claim that general sporting director Allia de Breda said a deal was set.
Galliani watched Kaka help Milan beat Fiorentina 1-0 at San Siro in what many believe will be the Brazilian’s last match for Milan before a 100-million-pound ($147-million) transfer to the English Premier League side.
But he said nothing had been agreed to between two clubs.
“Milan and the player haven’t signed anything,” he told Sky Italia. “For now nothing has happened that will push Kaka toward Manchester. We are in a worldwide recession and you need to think with a level head.”
Galliani said replacing Kaka would be impossible.
“To take a lower-level player doesn’t help us. There aren’t any other players at Kaka’s level, therefore if he leaves we are still without Kaka. But Kaka hasn’t left. For now it is useless to speculate. Now the problem is deciding what to do.”
