Marach and Kubot come through epic ATP Masters struggle

Tennis news

Austrian Tennis star Oliver Marach and his Polish partner Lukasz Kubot saved three match points on their way to their second win at the ATP Masters in London today (Weds). The duo beat Belarusian-Israeli team Max Mirnyi / Andy Ram in an epic game, taking the match on their fourth match point to win 4-6, 6-4, 16-14 at Londons O2 Arena. The pair are now well-placed to qualify for the semi-finals after winning their first match in the tournament against 2009 US Open winners Czech Lukas Dlouhy and Indian Leander Paes on Monday. Marach, 29, is only the third Austrian to qualify for an ATP Masters – the highlight at the end of every Tennis season – after Thomas Muster and Julian Knowle achieved the same in the past in the singles and doubles events respectively.
