Wozniacki beats near-namesake at Australian Open
Tennis newsFourth-seeded Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark has won her first-round match at the Australian Open, beating Canadian Aleksandra Wozniak 6-4, 6-2.
Wozniacki, who lost the U.S. Open final last year to Kim Clijsters, has been to Melbourne Park twice before, advancing to the fourth round in 2008.
Its far from the first time the two have met to confuse the chair umpire and the fans – Wednesdays match was the seventh between the pair, and Wozniacki has won six times.
The match was originally scheduled for Tuesday but was delayed by a day due to a backlog of matches caused by rain delays on Monday.
