Bellucci, Monaco reach quarterfinals
Tennis newsThird-seeded Thomaz Bellucci of Brazil defeated Chiles Paul Capdeville 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 to reach the quarterfinals of the Movistar Open.
In other matches, second-seeded Juan Monaco of Argentina beat Juan Ignacio Chela 6-3, 7-5. Peter Luczak of Australia advanced to the quarterfinals, beating David Marrero of Spain 6-3, 7-6 (4).
Former champion Jose Acasuso of Argentina retired injured during his second-round match. Acasuso, the 2006 champion and runner-up last year, won the first set from Eduardo Schwank 7-6 (3), but was injured in the second and retired hurt after losing it 6-2.
