neighborhood woman is threatening to shoot my cat, what should i do

Tennis betting news

I’ve had my cat for 4 years. she is a very sweet and loving animal and i rescued her from a pet shelter when she was several months old. we live in New Hampshire in a mostly rural area and my cat has being going outside to play and explore with other cats since she was 7 months old.
at 8 months old the lady across the street shot her in her paw with a bb gun when she was stuck in a tree in her yard because the meowing annoyed her and her grandson shot her with a nerf gun and threw tennis balls at her.
she had a fracture on her arm and her paw was crushed from the bb’s and some bleeding on her head from the basketball. i was mortified, a local landscaper volunteered to get her out of the tree with a cherry picker because she was severely injured and couldn’t climb down.
i kept my cat inside for months but she is an outdoor cat, she comes in to eat and sleep and then explores during the day and even goes to the bathroom outside. the cat loves being outdoors and for the most part she doesn’t go near that lades front yard and if she does i can’t imagine she does anything but walk across the grass. theres no garden and some dead grass. there are a ton of neighborhood cats in addition to mine.
today i was standing in the driveway talking to my father who was pulling out to drive to the store. the lady waited until he was out of sight and called out to me and said "do you know where your cat was this morning?" "She was in my fucking yard walking around and she bothers my dog while he’s sleeping because it wakes him up" she then proceeded to call me a c u next tuesday. so i walked away and said "I’m not listening to this" she then said "your cat doesn’t get the picture, i kicked her in the face and knocked two of her teeth out and left some food with rat poison out for her and next I’m gone blow her brains out with a shotgun" "i bet you’ll listen if she’s dead won’t you"
i began crying and called 911.
3 months ago my cat came home missing her two canine teeth and one other little tooth, her lip was split and bleeding and i figured it was from a fight with an animal. she’s lost a tremendous amount of weight in the past 3 months and her hair has fallen out in addition to her gums bleeding. my step mother said it was "mange" a fungal infection that she must have gotten during the summer.
but it was this lady. she’s an old miserable hag and a sick twisted lady who’s in her 60s and her 40 year old daughter stood right by her side calling me a c u next tuesday, a bitch etc.
the police said if she actually shoots my cat she’ll be arrested and she even told the cop she’d shoot her….but they can’t do anything because its not a domestic threat against another person, its against an animal!!
i could try and keep her inside as much as possible but we have a barn connected to our house and she always finds a way to sneak in and sneak out of the house when we put her on lock down. i sent her off to live with my brother in the city and it breaks my heart.

What would you do if you were in my shoes?

  • That’s animal abuse. I wish I could do the same to your vile neighbor. She sounds like a wacko who could end up hurting humans too. Move.

Keep your cat inside. It’s being horribly abused!

Oh right, don’t say anything about the insane neighbor, guy below me. Sheesh.

  • A responsible cat owner would keep the cat in doors.
  • a lot depends on the laws of your particular community – but when I was growing up my cat went to the neighbors yard and they called the cops on us and my dad had to go to court – he even asked the officer if he had any cat handcuffs .. but anyway as far as I understand the law that you are responsible for keeping the animal on your own property – and once your animal goes off your property then YOU are breaking the law. Now you need to find out what the law is – as the laws can change per community but in every community that I’ve been in – it has been like this – that you are responsible for containing your own animal on your own property

laws aren’t always very compassionate are they?

  • Call the police and have it put “on record” that she is THREATENING to kill your cat. That way it will be on record if she TRIES anything else. Tell the police kind of what she told you…about the rat poison. There is definately something wrong with her, but you know that. She is a coo coo bird.
She abused your cat… Report her to the “animal care specialists” in your area. I can’t remember
the real name…Maybe report her to the “animal shelter; the pound.”

She is a real piece of work….sick twisted woman like you said.
Just keep your distance…Obviously she is trouble.
    ABUSIVE woman. WOW!!!

  • If I were in your shoes I would first find out how good her aim is.

Short of moving there is not much you can do if the cat manages to escape. Hopefully the cat has learned who to avoid.

But you can bring a charge of harassment for the verbal abuse. That would be enough to get you a restraining order to keep her away. If she violates that she goes to jail.
Short of moving I see no legal way beyond the restraining order.

Sorry Maybe someone else will have a better idea

  • 1. Thats animal abuse (Against the law)
    2. It’s disturbing the peace (Against the law)
    3. She’s threatening you (Against the law)

hmmm, i dont know MAYBE CALL THE POLICE?

  • Shoot your neighbor with a gun.
