“I asked a lot of them. I lost tally,” the 19-year-old defense said following a two-hour habit at the Bulls’ outlying schooling facility. “(But) I felt very comfortable out there. I can’t wait to get down to Orlando and dawn .”
The 6-foot 3-inch Rose, carefully chosen principal general in the NBA draft, was among 17 players at a four-day minicamp held before next week’s Orlando Pro Summer League in Florida.
Along with and to a range of plays and scenarios, Rose also played in a 15-diminutive fake game.
“His quickness, his activeness is impressive,” Chicago coach Vinnie Del Negro said. “And he’ll get on the mend every day as he becomes more comfortable. I’m not especially worried in the region of Derrick. It’s just a question of time.”
Rose played a particular institution season at Memphis and led the Tigers to this year’s NCAA Division I right game before subsiding to Kansas. A Chicago intrinsic, Rose also led Simeon Career Academy to state high school championships in his absolute two years.
